The curriculum for our Pre-school covers seven learning
and development areas, including the six areas set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework.
These are as follows:
Personal, Social & Emotional Development
Cooperating, resolving conflict, kindness, care and affection,
sharing and taking turns.
Communication, Language & Literacy
Learning through the use of language, music, rhyme, movement,
drama, art and books.
Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
These skills come through observation, numbers, counting rhymes,
cause and effect games and problem solving.
Knowledge of the World
Celebrating cultural diversity and respect amongst our peers
by music, clothing, cooking, exploring the outdoors and books.
Physical Development
Fun with running, climbing, balancing, catching, hand-eye coordination
and more...
Creative Development
An aesthetic awareness and appreciation of the world through
art, music, stories, nature and crafts.
Self
& Spiritual Awareness
All about "me" and my place in creation
through story, song and action. This extra learning area reflects
the Christian view of the Pre-school
